SMO254/EN1.4547/UNS S31254 Stainless Steel

SMO 254 is austenitic stainless which was developed to be used in saltwater and other chloride-content environment systems. It has very good resistance against pitting corrosion, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. Compared with other conventional austenitic stainless steels like 304 and 316, SMO steels have very good mechanical strength and weldabilities are good.

SMO 254 Stainless sheets of steel have better corrosion resistance against sulphuric acid or chloride content environments compared with 304, 316, and 904-grade steels.

304 and 316 conventional stainless sheets of steel can be sensitive against stress corrosion cracking at 80-100⁰C. SMO 254 sheets of steel show very good performance against this type of corrosion at high-temperature levels.

Compared with 904L steel, SMO 254 has also better crevice corrosion resistance.

Additionally, SMO 254 shows better performance against intergranular corrosion than other stainless steel types.

SMO 254 steel has good toughness and can be used in cryogenic applications.

You can get an offer for SMO 254 stainless steel in the below material forms:
